More than two decades ago, I was dreaming of a better life, and I immigrated to Toronto as a single girl from rural China at 22. However, I don’t speak a word of English. While working in Chinatown, I took an ESL course to learn basic conversational English.  Yet, this is not an easy road for me …

In November 2008, I had a vivid dream and received a message that drove me on a pilgrimage to India. Then I packed my backpack and flew to India alone. I didn’t book any hotels or tour groups, but I was traveling around for 100 days, and the living conditions were very rough and unexpectedly simple. I have been incredibly inspired through this challenging and rewarding adventure.  God also instructed me to document my travel voyage as my Love letter and my gratitude to the people of India. It was the openhearted Indian people who offered me selfless acts, generosity, inspiration, compassion, unwavering faith, and unconditional love that enabled me to embark on a meaningful spiritual awakening and self-transformation journey.

In 2009, in the process of writing and self-publishing the book ” Travelling Inwards”, I was stumbling through countless difficulties; I had no knowledge of English writing, hardly knew how to spell, and often did not comprehend fundamental grammatical rules. I considered to forgo on pursuing this ambition many times. Maybe, most people will easily give up the idea of being a writer, as they are unproficiency in writing or face test of language barriers or financial obstacles. Nonetheless, I realize that every time I dare to dream big, my life unfolds exceptionally. Furthermore, I have committed my soul to have the courage to live up to my full potential and  I hold on to my belief that I have the capability to live my possibility.

For this reason, with my audacity and willpower,  I took out a second mortgage on my home as my sole source of support while writing my book. Also, I did not leave the house at that period, I ate and slept with a dictionary and a computer. As well as I wrote more than fifteen hours a day, and it took me 9 months of dedication to give birth to my brainchild. I overcame my fears of poverty, frustration with English, and other breakdowns, and continued to demonstrate self-discipline, perseverance, and determination. I focused on my vision, persistently committed to write, edit, rewrite, polish, take criticism, and re-write again, and incredibly I paid not just one but three editors’ money to give me more criticism, and re-write… 

Within one year, I accomplished my goals, and my gigantic aspiration became a reality, although I never imagined that someone with no education, no experience, and no proficiency could write a two-hundred-ninety-eight-page book and self-publish in such a short period. But I learned to dare to let my music be heard, to believe in myself, to trust in the Divine Force when She gave me a vision, and She also gave me the fortitude to achieve the impossible. So, if I could triumph in such a challenging task, I believe it is important for me to assist others to realize that they have the competence and willpower to live their fullest potential.

I sincerely share my writing story in the hope that it will inspire you and plant a seed in you to dare to dream big. When you continue to demonstrate that you have the strength and integrity to follow your impossible dream,  the Divine Force will appear and help you to move the colossal mountain.

A few years later, surprisingly, I was able to convince the world-renowned Hay House Publishing Company to represent Travelling Inwards worldwide, which was very significant to me.  Certainly, I am proud of the achievement,  I am eternally grateful to God for bestowing me insights and inspiration, as well for choosing me as an instrument of messenger to share wisdom with mankind.   ღ  ღ
