π The day I finally came home to my own heart π
Dear Me,
Today, I want to stop running. I want to stop judging myself for the things I did, the things I didn’t do, the choices I made, the choices I wish I had made differently, and the moments when I simply did not know what I know today.
Today, I choose something different. I choose to forgive myself.
- Not because everything I have done was perfect.
- Not because the past did not matter.
- Not because I can erase what happened.
But because I finally understand something deeply: I was always doing the best I could with the awareness, understanding, courage, and resources I had at that moment.
And now I know more. Now I see more. Now I am awake to more. That is called growth.
π I FORGIVE THE PERSON I WAS π
- I forgive the younger me who was afraid.
- I forgive the woman who sometimes stayed silent when she wanted to speak.
- I forgive the person who accepted less than she deserved because she did not yet know her own worth.
- I forgive myself for the times I reacted from fear instead of responding from awareness.
- I forgive myself for believing stories that were never truly mine.
- I forgive myself for carrying shame that belonged to circumstances, other people, family patterns, and a world I was too young to understand.
I forgive myself for every time I thought: βThere must be something wrong with me.β
There was not. I was learning. I was surviving. I was becoming. And sometimes becoming is messy.
π I RELEASE THE NEED TO PUNISH MYSELF π
For so long, perhaps I believed that if I continued to feel guilty, ashamed, or regretful, I was somehow making amends for the past. But pain is not proof of goodness. Punishing myself does not heal yesterday. Judging myself does not change what happened. Carrying shame does not honor the people I may have hurt. And suffering endlessly does not make me more worthy of love. So today, I put down the weight.
- I no longer need to hurt myself in order to prove that I care.
- I can take responsibility without carrying shame.
- I can learn without condemning myself.
- I can make amends without becoming imprisoned by regret.
- I can acknowledge the pastβand still choose peace.
π I HONOR EVERYTHING I HAVE SURVIVED π
Dear Me, look how far you have come.
- There were moments when you didn’t know how you would continue.
- There were days when you felt alone.
- There were times when you questioned your worth.
- There were experiences you did not understand until many years later.
And yetβyou kept walking.
π You kept searching.
π You kept learning.
π You kept opening your heart.
π You kept looking for meaning.
π You kept choosing life.
Even when you were wounded, something inside you continued to whisper: βThere must be another way.β And you listened.
- That voice was wisdom.
- That voice was life.
- That voice was you.
π I NO LONGER NEED TO BE THE PERSON I ONCE WAS π
π I give myself permission to change.
π I give myself permission to outgrow old identities.
π I give myself permission to release beliefs that once protected me but no longer serve me.
π I give myself permission to become someone my younger self could not yet imagine.
- I am not my past.
- I am not my mistakes.
- I am not my wounds.
- I am not my family story.
- I am not the opinions others once had of me.
- I am not the fear I once carried.
- I am the awareness that can see all of these thingsβand choose again.
π Every moment gives me another opportunity to return to consciousness.
π Every breath gives me another beginning.
π TO THE LITTLE GIRL WITHIN ME π
- I see you now.
- I see how hard you tried.
- I see the moments when you felt invisible.
- I see the times you wondered whether you were lovable enough, beautiful enough, worthy enough, good enough.
π You never needed to earn your right to belong.
π You never needed to become someone else to deserve love.
π You were worthy before you achieved anything.
π You were worthy before anyone praised you.
π You were worthy before anyone understood you.
π You were worthy simply because you were alive.
I am sorry for all the years I abandoned you by believing the world instead of listening to your heart. But I am here now. I will not abandon you again.
- You don’t have to make yourself small anymore.
- You don’t have to disappear anymore.
- You don’t have to carry everyone’s pain anymore.
Come here. Rest. You are safe in my heart.
π I FORGIVE MYSELF FOR NOT KNOWING π
This may be one of the deepest forms of self-forgiveness: forgiving myself for what I did not know.
- I did not know then what I know now.
- I did not have today’s awareness.
- I did not have today’s wisdom.
- I did not have today’s perspective.
- I cannot go backward and give my younger self the consciousness I have today.
But I can do something beautiful. I can give today’s consciousness to today’s life.
That is how the past becomes wisdom instead of a prison.
π I CHOOSE LOVE π
From this moment forward, I choose to speak to myself with kindness.
π When I make a mistake, I will learn.
π When I fall, I will rise.
π When I feel fear, I will breathe.
π When shame appears, I will bring it into awareness.
π When an old pattern returns, I will not call it failure.
I will call it an invitation.
- An invitation to pause.
- An invitation to see.
- An invitation to choose again.
π I will no longer ask: βWhat is wrong with me?β
π I will ask: βWhat is asking to be understood, healed, and loved?β
π I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION TO RECEIVE π
I give myself permission to receive love without earning it.
- To receive kindness without suspicion.
- To receive abundance without guilt.
- To receive joy without waiting for something bad to happen.
- To rest without feeling lazy.
- To say no without feeling guilty.
- To say yes when my heart is alive.
- To walk away from what diminishes me.
- To move toward what expands me.
- To live a life that feels true.
I do not need permission from my past to enter my future.
π MY LIFE IS STILL UNFOLDING π
Perhaps I spent too much time looking backward, wondering what I could have done differently. Today, I turn around. I face the road ahead.
There are still chapters I have never read. People I have never met. Places I have never seen. Lessons I have never learned. Love I have never experienced.
Possibilities I have never imagined. My story is not finished.
And I refuse to let an old chapter become a prison for a new one.
π A PROMISE TO MYSELF π
Dear Me,
- I promise to stop abandoning myself.
- I promise to listen to my body.
- I promise to honor my feelings without becoming imprisoned by them.
- I promise to question the stories my mind creates.
- I promise to choose awareness over automatic reaction.
- I promise to protect my boundaries without closing my heart.
- I promise to speak my truth with compassion.
- I promise to rest when I need rest.
- I promise to ask for help when I need help.
- I promise to celebrate how far I have come.
And when I forget all of thisβI promise to begin again. Because beginning again is not failure. Beginning again is freedom.
π AND FINALLY, I SAY THIS TO MYSELF π
I forgive you.
- For yesterday.
- For the years you spent trying to survive.
- For the choices you made before you understood.
- For the times you were afraid.
- For the times you were lost.
- For the times you gave too much.
- For the times you gave too little.
- For the times you could not find your voice.
- For the times you betrayed your own needs because you were trying to be loved.
I forgive you. And more importantlyβI love you.
π Not the perfect version of you.
π Not the healed version of you.
π Not the successful version of you.
π You. π
The human being who is still learning. Still growing. Still healing. Still awakening. Still walking. I no longer need to become perfect to love myself.
I can love myself while I am becoming. So, I place my hand upon my heart. I breathe. And I say: I am here. I see you. I hear you. I forgive you. I accept you.
π I love you. π
You are worthy. You are enough. You always were.
The past may explain where I have been. But it does not own where I am going.
- I release what is finished.
- I receive what is here.
- I bless the person I was.
- I embrace the person I am.
- And I welcome the person I am becoming.
π Today, I stop searching for permission to love myself. I give myself that permission.
π Today, I stop waiting to come home. I come home to myself.
And from this moment forward, I will walk through this life not as someone trying to prove that I am worthy of love, but as someone who finally remembers:
π I AM LOVE. π
And I am free to begin again.
