At the beginning of 2022, the turbulence of the world and my own personal challenges caught up with me. My body, unable to contain the stress, began to speak. One morning, I looked in the mirror and was shocked—red patches covering my face and body. The itchiness was unbearable, but what pained me even more was the collapse of my self-image.
For over 20 years, I worked as an image consultant. Appearance was my currency. My ego had been built upon how I looked, and now the universe seemed to be testing me in the most intimate way—by stripping me of that very identity.
In my discomfort, I turned to what has always been my anchor: Vipassana meditation. Sitting quietly on my cushion, I asked: What is the lesson in this?
In stillness, I heard the whisper of my soul:
“Accept yourself. Love yourself unconditionally.”
So, I meditated on acceptance for an entire day, blessing my body with gratitude. On the third day of juice fasting, I noticed something shift. The itchiness lessened. The redness softened. By the eleventh day—without a single medication—my skin had restored itself.
