人需自救,天才救之
🦋 There are moments in life when the path suddenly becomes quiet. 🦋
For the past few days, I have been feeling blue. Not because I had lost my dream, but because I care so deeply about it.
Since I began my courageous pilgrimage in 2003, I have traveled through 23 countries, often carrying little more than a single backpack and an open heart. Along the way, I have met countless extraordinary people, experienced unforgettable moments, and encountered situations I could never have imagined.
- Some experiences were beautiful.
- Some were difficult.
- Some changed me forever.
And somewhere along the road, I began to inner stand that these experiences were not mine to keep only for myself.
- They were blessings.
- They were stories.
- They were human encounters filled with courage, kindness, vulnerability, resilience, and love.
I began to feel a deep calling to share them—to tell the stories of the people I met, the places I walked, the challenges I survived, and the moments that quietly transformed me into the person I am today.
💜 I wanted to express the profound love I discovered through travel and perhaps inspire someone else to take the road less traveled. 💜
But there was a problem. I wanted to become an exceptional storyteller.
Yet I didn’t know how. I had no mentor. No roadmap. No technical training. No video editing skills. No idea where to begin. And perhaps most frightening of all, I often didn’t know how to articulate what was inside my heart or communicate my experiences in a way that allowed others to truly understand me.
For several days, I felt frustrated. I wondered whether I was capable of bringing these stories to life. Then something unexpected happened.
🧘♂️ A Message in the Silence 🧘♂️
During my morning meditation yesterday, a few Chinese words seemed to arise from somewhere beyond thought:
人需自救,天才救之。
🦋 When a person helps themselves, Heaven comes to their aid. 🦋
The words stayed with me. Then, almost immediately, more messages seemed to appear.
I opened my computer and began researching how I could improve my storytelling. At the same time, I opened my email. And there it was. Almost unbelievably, a friend had just sent me an email about: “How to Be an Excellent Storyteller.”
I smiled. Perhaps someone else might call it coincidence. But I didn’t experience it that way. To me, it felt like an answer. Not because the Universe suddenly rescued me while I was doing nothing. But because I had taken the first step.
I helped myself. And somehow, help appeared. That realization filled me with renewed excitement.
Today, I am beginning an online storytelling course. And once again, I find myself walking into the unknown.
🦋 The Universe Meets Us on the Road 🦋
Looking back over my life, I see a pattern. Whenever I have sincerely done everything within my ability to help myself, something unexpected has often appeared to help me move forward.
- Not necessarily in the form I expected.
- Not always at the moment I wanted. But somehow, the next door opened.
I have experienced this many times. Perhaps the Universe does not carry us across the entire mountain. Perhaps it waits for us to take the first step. Then it meets us on the road.
🦋 The Book That Almost Didn’t Happen 🦋
I learned this lesson most profoundly when I wrote my first book, Travelling Inwards.
There were countless reasons why that book should never have been completed. At the time, my English was limited.
- My vocabulary was inadequate.
- My grammar was far from perfect.
- I had no formal training in writing.
- I struggled with creativity.
- I wrestled with confidence.
And there were people who doubted whether I could actually accomplish what I had dreamed of doing. Perhaps their doubts sometimes became my own.
But somewhere inside me was a voice that refused to surrender.
I knew there was a book within me.
And I knew that I had to bring it into the world.
So, I began.
🦋 Nine Months of Faith 🦋
During nine extraordinary months in 2009, I barely stepped outside my home. I ate beside my computer. I slept beside my computer. I lived with my computer and my dictionary. Day after day, I spent almost every waking moment writing, rewriting, learning, struggling, editing, and creating.
- I was not an accomplished writer.
- I did not possess sophisticated literary skills.
But I possessed something perhaps more important:
🙏 I believed in the story I carried inside me.
🙏 I refused to allow my limitations to become my destiny.
Little by little, sentence by sentence, page by page, the impossible began to take shape. Eventually, Travelling Inwards was completed.
At first, I self-published it. But I continued believing. I continued knocking. I continued trying. And eventually, something extraordinary happened.
🙏 This woman who had struggled with English and had no formal background in publishing, managed to convince the internationally renowned Hay House Publishing to publish her labor of love.
Looking back today, I don’t see that achievement as proof that I was exceptionally talented. I see it as proof of something much more powerful:
💜 Persistence can create miracles 💜
🦋 The Road Less Traveled 🦋
Perhaps that is why I have always been drawn to the road less traveled. The road does not promise certainty.
- It does not provide instructions.
- It does not guarantee success.
But it teaches us something that no classroom can fully teach:
💜 We discover who we are by walking beyond what we already know. 💜
- Every journey I have taken has taught me something.
- Every person I have met has left something behind.
- Every difficulty has asked me to grow.
- Every seemingly impossible situation has given me another opportunity to discover a strength I didn’t know I possessed.
And now I understand that perhaps my greatest responsibility is not simply to tell my own story. It is to share the stories that found me along the way.
- The stories of ordinary people who demonstrated extraordinary courage.
- The unexpected kindness of strangers.
- The moments when humanity revealed its beauty.
- The experiences that reminded me that beneath our different languages, cultures, religions, and circumstances, we are all searching for many of the same things: Love. Meaning. Connection. Hope.
🦋 The Story Is Not Over 🦋
- Perhaps the reason I felt blue these past few days was not because I had failed.
- Perhaps it was because I had reached another threshold.
Every new chapter begins with uncertainty. And every new dream requires us to become a beginner again. Today, I am once again a beginner.
- I am learning how to tell stories.
- I am learning how to transform memories into narratives.
- I am learning how to give language to experiences that sometimes feel too deep for words.
- And I am learning to trust the process.
🙏 Perhaps that is another lesson of pilgrimage: We never truly arrive. We simply reach another gate. Then we walk through it. 🙏
🦋 Believe in the Dream Within You 🦋
If there is one message I would love to share with anyone reading this, it is this: Do not allow your limitations to convince you that your dream is impossible.
- You may not have the right education.
- You may not have the right connections.
- You may not have the money.
- You may not have the technical skills.
- You may not know where to begin.
- You may even have people telling you that you cannot do it.
🙏 Begin anyway. Learn. Ask. Search. Practice. Fall.
🙏 Begin again. Do everything within your power to help yourself. And then remain open to the unexpected help that may appear along the way.
Because sometimes, when we demonstrate to life that we are willing to take responsibility for our own journey, doors begin to open in ways we could never have planned.
- A person may appear.
- A book may appear.
- An opportunity may appear.
- A teacher may appear.
- A message may arrive in your inbox at exactly the right moment.
💜 Or perhaps what we call “the Universe” simply reveals possibilities that were invisible to us until we were willing to move. 💜
Whatever name we give it, I have experienced it too many times to ignore.
🦋 Your Story Matters 🦋
And perhaps this is the most important realization of all. Your story matters.
- Not because it is perfect.
- Not because you have achieved everything.
- Not because you have overcome every obstacle.
It matters because it is yours. The wounds. The mistakes. The courage. The failures. The unexpected blessings. The people you met. The places you walked. The moments when you almost gave up. And the moments when something inside you whispered:
“Keep going.”
These are the threads from which a meaningful life is woven. My story began with a backpack and a willingness to step into the unknown. It carried me across countries, cultures, mountains, deserts, and countless human encounters.
And now, perhaps, another chapter is beginning. This time, I am learning not only how to travel inward—but how to tell the stories of that journey.
🦋 One More Step 🦋
I don’t know where this next chapter will lead. But I know one thing. I am willing to begin. And perhaps that is all the Universe ever asks of us.
Not certainty. Not perfection. Just one sincere step. Then another. Then another.
💜 Until one day, we look back and realize that the road we were afraid to take has become the road that transformed our lives. 💜
So, if there is a dream quietly living inside you, please don’t wait until you feel completely ready.
Take the first step. Help yourself. Open the door. Walk toward the dream. And then watch carefully. Because sometimes, just when we have done everything we can—the Universe meets us halfway.
人需自救,天才救之。
🦋 When we help ourselves, Heaven helps us. 🦋
And as for me? I am still walking. Still learning. Still dreaming. Still becoming. And I still believe: As long as you believe in your dream, more is possible than you ever imagined.
🦋 Your story is waiting to be told. Perhaps the next chapter begins today. 🦋
💜 I hope people can feel why I have poured my heart into telling this story: it is not only an encounter that is filled with magic and miracles, but also a testament to an unreserved human bond—and to a love that is pure and unconditional. 💜
